Constant Temperature Vehicle - Environmental Control System

The constant temperature chick transport vehicle's environmental control system is basically a mobile climate chamber.

Sensor Configuration

• 6 temperature sensors (ambient, supply air, return air, front/middle/rear interior)
• CO₂ sensor (alerts when concentration exceeds 3500 PPM)
• Humidity sensor (controls humidification output)
• Pressure sensor (differential pressure monitoring for filter condition)

Control Logic

Set target temperature: 22-26°C. The system compares ambient vs. interior temperature and decides whether to cool or heat.

Summer Cooling

Set around 22°C. Current draw during cooling: 160-180A. Idle: 90A+ . The independent engine keeps cooling active even when the truck is parked with the main engine off.

Winter Heating

Set around 23°C. The fuel heater shares the chassis fuel tank. Choose diesel grade based on local minimum temperature: #0 (above 5°C), #-10 (above -5°C), #-20 (above -15°C), #-35 (above -30°C). After shutdown, let the water pump and heater cool before cutting main power.

Spring/Autumn Natural Ventilation

When ambient is 12-18°C, neither cooling nor heating is needed. Just adjust the dampers. The system focuses on CO₂ and humidity management during this mode.

CO₂ Management

Safety limit: 3000 PPM. Default target: 2800 PPM. Above this, the system increases fresh air intake. Below this, it reduces intake. This parameter ties directly to loading density — a full load needs more ventilation than a partial load.

Display Panel

The cab touchscreen shows: 6 temperature readings, current differential pressure, CO₂ concentration, voltage, and damper positions (1-5) in real time.
